Cigna Preferred

The treatment of varicose and spider veins at the Advanced Vein & Vascular Center, Inc., is the best in Philadelphia. We are dedicated to helping you overcome the pain and embarrassment of large, bulging and stubborn varicose veins or problematic spider vein clusters. Many of our clients come to us with pressing concerns about the condition of their legs and body, not only for cosmetic reasons but many with medical issues as well. The best part is, we’re a preferred provider for Cigna, IBC, and Aetna!

Varicose Veins Are Painful, But We Treat Them!

Varicose veins can begin as merely unsightly veins, but they often become painful for patients. Exercise and difficulty walking is one of the main reasons patients seek us out. We can often help reduce symptoms and even delay the onset of varicose veins! We want you to take back complete control of your life and be in command of your legs once again.

Varicose veins aren’t just in the legs, where the problem is most common, but in the hands, chest and other areas of the body as well. Some may not be suitable for treatment. But no matter where your varicose veins pop up (no pun intended), we offer a variety of nonsurgical and surgical treatments to get you back on track and ready to take on the world. Many of our treatments are under an hour and you can resume your normal daily routine in no time.

Spider Veins on the Facial Area

Facial Spider veins are tiny, thread-like veins often in clusters around the nose, on the cheeks, and even on the forehead – any facial area can be affected. These can be difficult for patients to cover up. Our faces are an important focal point from first impressions to our personal level of confidence. We can redirect the blood flow from these particular places that bring the appearance of spider veins where they’re just too visible for comfort. We can close off these veins with little to no discomfort or downtime for you. No recovery is necessary.

Treatments we offer for spider and varicose veins in Philadelphia:

  • Radio frequency vein ablation (VNUS closure): radio frequency administered to the veins via a small catheter that causes the veins to close completely.
  • EVLT (endovenous laser therapy): laser emission to the walls of the vein damaging the vein, causing the reaction to close off and close the vein off.
  • Ambulatory phlebectomy: this is the removal of the problem veins completely from the body by extraction, with small tools and minimal (small) incisions.
  • Sclerotherapy: this involves the physician inserting a catheter and wire that administers a sclerosing solution or medication that causes the vein to stick to itself and close off. Sclerotherapy can also be performed by adding a foam block to the vein without medication or laser treatment.
  • Laser vein treatment: laser energy is emitted into the vein from a wire tipped catheter that is inserted gently usually by ultrasound. The physician does this in increments to completely close off the vein.

Cigna Insurance Coverage & Other Financial Options

We know our Philadelphia patients are anxious to know the extent of insurance coverage when it comes to the removal of spider and varicose veins. At the Advanced Vein & Vascular Center, Inc., we offer multiple options for insurance coverage. Depending on the symptoms resulting from your varicose and spider veins, treating them may be considered medically necessary and your health insurance may cover the treatment.

We have had good long-standing coverage from “The Blues” such as Independence and Highmark, as well as Aetna. We are pleased to announce that as of 2015, we also participate with Cigna. That’s great news for our Cigna patients, as we were not previously participating with Cigna, and were considered “out of network” and hence more costly for our patients. Cigna Insurance is now one of our preferred insurance providers along with those above. In any case, we can verify your coverage before your first appointment. If you’re with Cigna, Blue Cross, Aetna, Coventry/HealthAmerica or multiple local carriers, we encourage you to schedule your consultation and let us help you to speak with your Insurance representative today.

Your legs don’t have to be painful and unsightly anymore. We want you to take out the short shorts and skirts coming up throughout the year. With many insurance and financial options, such as Cigna in Philadelphia, we’ve got you covered. Say goodbye to spider and varicose veins for good.
